IAG Confirms Minimal Fire Risk in EVs, Advocates for Fleet Electrification?w=400
Shawn Ticehurst, Head of the IAG Research Centre, has addressed prevalent concerns regarding the fire risks associated with electric vehicles (EVs).
Speaking at the Smart Energy Expo in Sydney, Ticehurst stated that the risk of EV battery fires is "effectively zero" when systems are properly installed and undamaged.

This reassurance comes at a pivotal time as fleet operators consider transitioning to electric mobility. Ticehurst emphasized that IAG's extensive research supports the safety of EVs, dispelling myths fueled by misinformation. He highlighted that with correct installation and maintenance, EVs pose no greater fire risk than traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

For truck owners and fleet managers, this insight is significant. It not only alleviates safety concerns but also underscores the viability of integrating EVs into their operations. Embracing electric mobility can lead to long-term cost savings and align with sustainability goals, positioning businesses at the forefront of the evolving transport industry.
